About Me
I am Mrs. Denise Espinoza. I am a proud product of LAUSD. I am honored to be in my 23rd year of teaching English. I have taught 9th, 10th, and 12th grade. I have taught Reading Intervention, English Learners, regular College Prep, Honors, and AP Literature. I believe in the power of life-long learning, of continuing to expand one's mind. I hold my students to high expectations because I believe in the ability of all students to succeed.
I believe that literature is life! Literature can shine a mirror on ourselves and our lives, giving us the words we did not have to express our truths. Literature can also open windows onto those individuals, cultures, and/or times which appear to be different from us, helping us to understand others and highlighting the humanity within us all.
