I discovered my love for teaching while working towards my Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at UC-San Diego. As a first-generation college student and a huge science nerd, I became an expert at making complex topics in science understandable for my family. I also realized that there was a lot about the practitioners and culture of science that I wanted to change. I want to see the diversity of scientists in America increase and I want more students from families and neighborhoods like mine become scientists who research topics that affect our communities. I began teaching in 2015 after defending my doctoral thesis and receiving my Ph.D.

 

I love science and learning things that blow my mind. However, I also love Jesus, dancing, reading, hiking, Korean TV, Korean R & B, attending concerts, Marvel comics and movies, and my two cats Harley & Quinn. I have credentials to teach Biology, Physics, and Biotechnology CTE courses. In the classroom, I am a brain personal trainer who will challenge you to work out your brain like a muscle to make you more mentally fit. I look forward to collaborating with you in our exploration of science and I can't wait until one of my students gets their doctorate in science and conducts research that changes the world!
